The way to gather authority is a bit overly complex and takes too long for you to start receiving any authority and there is also no way to lose authority, nor there is any explanation of what this authority actually is or towards whom you have or receive authority from.īut the "concept" behind it is truly perfect for the game and its impact in gameplay was very beneficial and truly fun.įor one, it made it impossible to make a mistake where as someone who had already played before knew of, which is when you promote too many citizens of their citizenry status and then create a chaos where everyone has unfulfilled needs. Since I came back to play after a good time away from the game, there was one mod that I added to my new village that completely changed the gameplay in a VERY positive manner, but which was "overly engineered", yet the concept behind it was both logical, fits with an old suggestion of mine and can be made a LOT better use of if it is recreated as a "vanilla" game mechanic. Each level takes place in a different environment and varied enemies. All in all there are 14 levels with increasing difficulty. It doesn't have too much of a story or any fancy music & graphics, and while the game does not necessarily excel on all aspects, its addictive gameplay, diverse & creative levels are enough to make it worth a play, if you're fan of platform games. Claw is a platformer of old times and it got the magic of true classics. (Not too sure about "playable" on modern system, my own is an low-end laptop with a 32-bit system). 20 years after initial release, it's still playable and looks quite alright for its time. 20 years after initial release, it's still playable and Captain Claw is an awesome classic and I'm surprised it's so underrated and unknown.
